Writing holds the power to reshape our narratives, transforming pain into purpose
and reclaiming control over our stories.
Through the written word, we can rewrite our past, turn suffering into strength, and find a subtle yet profound form of revenge against the forces that once silenced us.

FEATURED WORK

“Your family is ushered through. You’d been rescued by a fishing boat the night before, taken to
a sister island for a meal and first aid. Dressed in clothes from strangers, too loose, too tight.”
PUBLICATIONS
“Your buttery leather jacket would have enshrouded my form, been pulled across my cheek.
You would have entwined yourself around me, held my face against your neck.”
“I witnessed the kiss that pressed you against me, fingers splayed. I cried when he took a knife
and carved through my skin,
a heart with your names.”
“I’m standing in my underwear when the photographer opens the door. The stylist hands me
a blouse, which does nothing to cover my ass.”
ABOUT
Writing is my alchemy, a way to transform pain into power and reclaim my story. I’m Allison Cross, and while I only recently began my journey as a writer, it has quickly become a central part of who I am. After studying under the guidance of authors Helen Klonaris and Shuly Xóchitl Cawood, and completing a three-year creative writing mentorship, I’ve started sharing my work with the world.

My short stories and memoirs have been featured in publications like the
Thieving Magpie, the Green Hills Literary Lantern, and the Penman Review.
I was also honored with an honorable mention in the Writer's Digest Annual Writing competition, 2024. Currently, I’m pouring my heart into my first novel,
a project that’s both challenging and deeply fulfilling.

Writing allows me to confront and process the raw emotions and experiences that have shaped me. It’s a way to heal, gain clarity, and share my story with others who might find strength or solace in knowing they’re not alone.

Before I found my voice as a writer, I spent two decades as an international fashion model, traveling the world. I’ve lived in four different countries,
and my adult daughter and two young sons were born in France. Along the way,
I co-created and owned a beauty and wellness center in the heart of Paris, became a certified health coach, and honed my skills as a death doula and energy healing practitioner.

My journey has been anything but ordinary, marked by challenges that have tested my resilience, and moments of profound growth that have shaped who I am today. Through storytelling and writing, I've found a way to turn my experiences into a narrative that both heals and empowers.
